Moving to uk as freelancer- visa

I've already tried looking for threads that might answer my question but found none; I hope I won't be redundant. I'm considering moving to London even though I'm not very familiar with it. I work remotely, as a freelancer. I'm Italian and have spent the last few years in other European countries. Naively, I assumed I would find a visa option longer than six months but after checking, I realized there isn’t one available for me. In short, I would move to London and if I like it, I would transfer my tax residency there, thus paying taxes there. My job is very lucrative but from what I understand, unless you're a sponsored employee, open a startup, or are considered an innovator, you can’t stay longer than six months. Is that correct? Do you have any more information on this or know of situations similar to mine? Thanks!
