How to stop numerous coupons/discounts being used at the same time?

I’ve had this issue a couple of times and it’s quite annoying. Wondering if anyone has a good solution.

So obviously if you create a discount through the Shopify app you can avoid clicking any boxes that say “coupon can be used at the same time with x” so people can’t use the discount codes with other promotions.

However the issue I’m finding is the following situations:

If I have a sale on a product, and put it under the Shopify product at a “compare at” price, Shopify doesn’t seem to record that as another promotion, so the person can check out with the sale on the product AND add their welcome coupon code from Klaviyo for example, doubling up on their discounts

I also use a discount app for site wide discounts, because the way Shopify either makes you either add a compare-at price manually to show discounts site wide or only allows you to show the discount at checkout (which doesn’t show up on any Google Ads you run so it’s almost useless) does my fucking head in so I’ve downloaded an app to run site wide sales. However again, issue is the Shopify discount system doesn’t register the site wide discounts from the app so it allows people to use Shopify discounts on top of the site wide discounts.

There’s got to be a better way, this is driving me up the wall. Does anyone have a good app or system they use to make sure the Shopify & Klaviyo generated codes, and all the pricing shown on the website sync properly so people can only use one discount?
