Can a guy be friend with a girl without having feelings for her?

Whenever I get a female friend I start grow feelings for her with time, and she would treat me like a friend for while and then dumb me for some reason, is it something I do? Idk but it's always the same honestly I feel like it's destroying me and Idk why Does boys has to be friend with boys always and have a girl only as a gf ??
