If you hate brushing your teeth, you’ll hate the consequences of the neglect even more
I’ve always hated the sensation of the toothbrush on my teeth and gums. Especially when using an electric one with the vibration.
I spent the last 13 years neglecting my teeth and now I’ve developed severe gum disease. Now I’ll have to go through treatment that not only involves brushing my teeth everyday but also procedures that are much more invasive.
The pain is constant and never takes a break. Talking and eating exacerbates it and trying to sleep is very difficult. Home remedies haven’t helped me relieve the discomfort. The treatment is also expensive and life long because this disease never fully goes away.
I’m only 21 and will have to deal with this for the rest of my life. I wish I forced myself to deal with the discomfort of brushing back when my teeth were still healthy. Because at least it was temporary and I could control it.
That said, if you’re similar to how I am and haven’t gotten to where I am now, please just force yourself to brush and floss even if it’s not the full 2 minutes or if you need to take little breaks during it. It’ll be much better than the fate of disease that is inevitable if you don’t.
