I'm tired of the "every Civ game is heavily criticized on release" to excuse the game's problems

There are a lot of posts talking about how ill received was Civilization VI on release (apparently?). But, if you go to the game's reviews on Steam, you'll see that it started to a 75% approval rate on it's first week, and 86% on the next month. This is public data, go check it.

Civilization VI's Stem reviews history

It was only after the first months that reviews started dropping, mainly due to awful AI which wasn't fixed, and the reviews were still between 55-65% usually. Civilization VII has oppened to a 48% approval rate. That is lowest than any other Civilization game. The only time Civilization VI was below 50% was when it was discovered that it had the spysoftware Red Shell.

Maybe, instead of blaming the players as "how silly, in a few years, after several updates, they will say the game is great", you should blame the developers who sold and incomplete game at 130 €.
