B and E strings sound Thin...

I've been a Pacifica owner going on three years. No matter what am settings I play with, the top two strings on my pacifica always sound a bit thin and empty compared to the rest. Should I adjust pickup height or change string gauge? I might find a tone I love on a Pod go, but then the top two strings sound weak...same on the spark 2.
