Mathematically impossible to release the 7 pieces of remaining content before February

So I love this game to death, and I was bored so I did the math to determine whether it’s possible for GUN to release the last 7 pieces of content before this month ends which are, 2 cosmetics for the content pass, 2 execution packs, New Skin, Hair pack, and Weather Variant. End of February is in 9 days.

Total Estimated Development Time:

Outfit pack (cosmetic/content pass) (2): 2 days per pack assuming that the two packs are for family, and victims separately (modeling, texturing, implementation) + 1 day for testing = 5 days

Execution Packs (2): 3 days per pack (animation, sound design, implementation) + 1.5 days testing = 7.5 days

New skin for whatever character (1): 1 day (texturing, implementation) testing adds 1 day. Total: 1 day development + 1 day testing = 2 days

Hair Pack (1): 1 day for development (modeling, texturing, and implementation across all 9 victims) 1 day for testing across all 9 victims (ensuring it looks correct on each character and doesn’t clip) Total: 1 + 1 = 2 days

Weather Variant (1): Testing across all characters (17) adds 2 days, Total: 3 days development + 2 days testing = 5 days

Total Revised Estimated:

Development time: 5 + 7.5 + 2 + 2 + 5 = 21.5 days.

ANALYSIS:

Based on these estimates, the total development time required is 21.5 days. However, they only have 9 days remaining.

MATHEMATICAL CONCLUSION:

Based on these assumptions, it is mathematically impossible to complete all 7 pieces of content by the end of February if they work on them sequentially.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

• Real-world factors: This is a simplified calculation. It doesn't account for potential delays, unforeseen bugs, the complexity of each piece of content, or the team's workload and resources.

• Marketing and Communication: Even if mathematically possible, the company needs to manage expectations and communicate clearly with its fans about the release schedule.

POSSIBLE SCENARIOS AND SOLUTIONS:

  1. Parallel Development: If the team can work on multiple pieces of content simultaneously (e.g., one team works on outfits while another works on executions), they could potentially reduce the overall time. However, this requires sufficient manpower and resources.

  2. Prioritization and Delay: The company could prioritize the most highly anticipated content and delay the release of one or two less critical items (e.g., one execution pack or the one skin cosmetic) to a later date. This would require clear communication with the player base.

  3. Crunch Time: The team could work overtime to accelerate development. However, this is generally not a sustainable solution and can lead to burnout and decreased quality.

  4. Simplified Content: The company could simplify the remaining content to reduce development time. For example, they could release a less elaborate weather variant or a simpler outfit pack. (Personally don’t recommend)

  5. Honest Communication: The most important thing is for the company to be transparent with its players. If they know they can't meet the deadline, they should communicate this honestly and explain the reasons why. Players are often more understanding if they feel they are being treated with respect.

RECOMMENDATION:

The company needs to immediately assess its resources, prioritize the remaining content, and determine the most realistic course of action. Honest communication with the player base is crucial to manage expectations and maintain goodwill. They should also avoid making promises they can't keep in the future.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Most plausible answer is that they are going to incorporate maybe 4 pieces of content for this month, then early March they will release the rest. My guess is the remaining 2 cosmetics for the content pass, hair pack, and one execution pack for this month. Then later on will be that one cosmetic, weather variant, and the other execution pack. I hope this gets boosted a lot!

Forgot to put it in the title but this is ONLY if they DIDN’T start working on it PRIOR to when the announcement dropped in September, and they’re for some reason working on it now. (Hope this isn’t the case)
