Slapfight happens between r/TeenagersButBetter and r/LuckyStar as the former brigade the latter over Lolicon Imagery

NSFW due to sexual material.

Contexts

r/LuckyStar is a subreddit for fans of the slice of life four panel manga/anime series Lucky Star. The series is about an otaku named Konata Izumi hanging out with her friends while talking about or immersing in anime and video games.

r/TeenagersButBetter is another version of r/teenagers, where teenagers post anything that other teenagers like to discuss about.

The Call Out

A post on the r/TeenagersButBetter subreddit is posted with the following title:

"Sometimes I regret making a Reddit account"

The image attached is a screenshot of a thread.

"Pedo type shit"

"it's fictional"

"I'm sorry but when you jerk off to drawings of little girls the source is still irl little girls"

"fictional little girls are not irl little girls"

Comments under this were aligned with OP's views. With the following comments:

"I'd recommend YOU get help for trying to justify gooner art of children"

" "I wonder how you justify shooting people in First Person Shooter video games.." BITCH IT AINT THE SAME AS JERKING IT TO ART THAT LOOK LIKES LITTLE KIDS"

"THE DOWNVOTE TO UPVOTE RATIO IS INSANE. JAIL THESE FUCKERS"

Ok everyone downvote those pedos to the hubble deep field.

Also somebody said they wanted to smash their breedable little child *******. I swear these people are the reason humanity sucks.

OP then revealed that the comments came from a post with lolicon imagery from r/LuckyStar.

The Brigade

Users of r/TeenagersButBetter brigaded r/LuckyStar's lolicon posts in the form of comments. Some comments include:

" "G-guys they are actually 18 years old!!! yeah they look like 6 years old and act like 6 years old, b-but guys they're of legal age!" If anyone here think this is hot, you're a pedo. sorry, I don't make the rules. Lolis are pedo bait."

" This is what my body looked like when I was 10-12 years old. The leg and arm width are the same as what my classmates' were at that age. You could ask just about every female and some males about this and they would say "This is what my body looked like at [insert age much younger than 18]." Everyone who upvoted this are sick individuals. There is no excusing this. This is clearly meant to resemble a young child."

"You guys need to get a life with an adult partner and walk away from all this nonsense."

"listen, i hear all of you saying that these two characters are 18 in the source material, right? so here's a bright idea: draw them like 18 year olds!!! idk how you post art of characters that have the build of an 8 year old and then get mad when people start calling you the next Diddy. bro, you did this to yourself."

r/LuckyStar's users then downvoted these brigadiers' comments just like what happened with the commenter in the original screenshot, and replied in some of them. Including:

"They 👏 are 👏 not👏 children👏"

"According to Projekt Dunkelfeld "You are not guilty because of your sexual desire, but you are responsible for your sexual behavior." That means people can't choose to what they are attracted."

"People can like what they like if it's pure fiction. Is anyone being physically harmed by this post? And how about y'all stop downvoting if you can't even come up with a valid counterargument to back it. "

"It may not be normal, but being interested in this isn't hurting anyone. Is a drawing gonna bruise you? Just like I don't say people need help for liking scat which I personally find gross, you can just leave them be, as well."

r/TeenagersButBetter's Reactions

Back at r/TeenagersButBetter, there are mixed reactions to the brigade happening towards r/LuckyStar.

Some of them were furious at the brigade.

This sub just became r/teenagers 2.0, it's no longer the better sub reddit, every post has become one of two things, Hating on r/luckystars or talking about US politics, stfu

State of this subreddit rn:

Can we like not do a crusade?

Some added fuel to the fire, either showing that they got banned from r/LuckyStar, sharing more screenshots of the sub, or encouraging others in the community to brigade the sub.

Soldier round-up! (Made by the OP that started it all.)

All the pedos are downvoting this post

What the actual fuck is wrong with people

Got banned from the pedo community

I was banned from the goon cave.

r/LuckyStar's Reactions

To say that r/LuckyStar is negatively affected is an understatement, as users within the community made posts about this brigade.

People within it started to refer to the brigadiers as "tourists," as per gatekeeping lingo. Here's some posts, and the comments under them.

This post tells the community not to interact with the brigadiers. Yet again, the brigadiers attacked.

The fictional character argument is so flimsy. It doesn’t matter if it’s drawn, the attraction to highschool girls is still there.

The show is fine. Jerk off to them all you want. But that one post? Eight is too high

Another post regarding these brigadiers have also called out on their attacks, saying that they "intend to ruin r/LuckyStar with obscene accusations."

Comments and replies include:

I'm with you on this one. The fiction policing and virtue signaling I've been seeing around is crazy. I don't goon over these girls, but at least I have the respect and common sense to not push morals down people's throats over fiction that doesn't harm real people

You guys call everyone who doesn’t agree with your nasty shit tourists though. I’m a lucky star fan, an anime fan in general, and have spent a long time(too much time) within the anime community and many fandoms. You niggas are WEEEIRDD. You get a drawing of two toddlers and call it hot, then say “Oh but they’re 18‼️‼️” LOOK AT THEM! Y’all do anything to defend it I’m telling you😭😭 it’s crazy because they look young in the anime too but they didn’t even look THAT young. Lolified lolis is crazy.

if anyone can convince me otherwise that y'all sick mf's ain't pedophiles then I applaud yall, but I doubt any of y'all can convince me otherwise.

One of the mods decided to celebrate the amounts of reports in the original post where the comment in the original screenshot is in.

What will r/TeenagersButBetter's next move be? Will r/LuckyStar ever get rid of these brigadiers? More news as updates come.

Updates Are Here!

It seems that r/TeenagersButBetter's mods have removed the posts regarding on brigading r/LuckyStar, as said here.

On the other hand, r/LuckyStar's users are still talking about it and someone from the derivative of the Lucky Star subreddit, r/LuckyStarSFW has made a post on the main Lucky Star subreddit also regarding the issue as well.

So, it seems the issue has simmered down ever since this post was made. This has been the wild ride for both r/TeenagersButBetter and r/LuckyStar.

Not the End for r/TeenagersButBetter, apparently

Or is it? A couple of posts in the r/TeenagersButBetter sub has posted yet again expressing disgust of r/LuckyStar.

One of them shows that the users at r/LuckyStar "have foot fetish."

People replied with the following:

Can y'all stop posting screenshots of the lucky star subreddit for Karma farming and what not? I acknowledge that it's a p*do den but this sub is not for that topic and I don't want to keep seeing it on my feed. I suggest reporting posts or the entire subreddit itself as it actually does something. Thanks.

I’m not doing it for likes I’m doing it so that sub gets banned so no kids come into contact with pedos they need to become normal again

Man shush about r/luckystar we all know there’s quite a few creeps there

Another post was made, showing that r/LuckyStar "can't beat the allegations."

The following comments were made:

Y’all we know they r creeps but can y’all stop spamming posts about it

Hey, just recommend putting the NSFW tag on it. Mods might get mad as well as other members

JESUS H CHRIST, I DON’T FUCKING CARE ANYMORE

Commenters have expressed exasperation on both posts, telling the OPs of their respective posts to stop bringing it up, as it is now common knowledge amongst the r/TeenagersButBetter community and are tired of seeing it brought up again and again.
