Dear America: Stop Waging Economic War on Canada
I’m just a guy trying to raise a family. Trying to put food on the table. Trying to make sure my kids have a future. But instead of just focusing on that, I’m stockpiling supplies, watching the economy like a hawk, and wondering when the next blow is going to land. Because make no mistake, America isn’t just our neighbor. It’s waging economic war on us.
And now Trump goes on national TV during the Super Bowl and casually says he thinks Canada should be the 51st state. Like it’s just a foregone conclusion. Like we’ve already lost.
Well, I’ve got news for you, we haven’t.
But it’s getting harder to ignore what’s happening.
Your corporations own our industries – Private equity firms from the U.S. buy up everything from Canadian real estate to our grocery chains, driving up prices and forcing Canadians to rent what we should own.
Your tariffs choke our economy – When Washington decides to start a trade war, we get caught in the crossfire. Steel, lumber, agriculture—our industries take the hit every time.
Your policies drive our inflation – American supply chains dominate our markets, and when your corporations jack up prices, we pay the price up here, too.
Your banks and investors treat Canada like an acquisition – More and more of our land, housing, and resources are being sold off to American financial giants who don’t care about long-term sustainability—just profits.
This isn’t some friendly partnership.
This is a slow, calculated takeover.
And the worst part? Canada walked into it willingly, believing that being America’s closest trade partner meant security. Instead, we’re stuck in a system where Washington dictates the rules, and we pay the price.
So no, we don’t want to be the 51st state.
We don’t want to be a resource colony, a real estate investment portfolio, or an afterthought in America’s economic war games. We want our sovereignty. We want to build for ourselves. And we want this to stop.
And if it comes down to it, if the choice is between watching my country get swallowed up or fighting to keep my family free, you already know my answer. Because no free person ever wants to be ruled. No real man would stand by and watch his home be stripped away, his children turned into tenants on land that should be theirs
So if you think we’re just going to roll over and let you take us, you don’t understand what it means to be Canadian. We don’t give up. We don’t bow down. We fight for what’s ours
And if I have to give everything, if I have to stand my ground with nothing but my bare hands and the fire in my chest-I will. Because my children will not grow up as tenants in their own country. And I will not die a subject of a foreign power
