How far would you drive for a pediatrician you like?
I have a 3.5 year old and 11 month old. Our beloved pediatrician left our current practice and went on sabbatical this past summer. Since then we’ve been seeing another pediatrician at that practice who is “okay”. I haven’t been that impressed. She did not have the personal touch our old pediatrician had. She is great and truly cares about our family and her patients in general.
We just learned she is returning to another practice in a neighboring town. They take our insurance and they get great reviews. It’s only about 10 miles away but because we live in a congested area it can take anywhere 25-30 mins to get there. This would double our commute to our current practice which is in the same town only 10-15 mins away. We won’t be making the change until this summer when she starts.
So how far are you willing to drive for a pediatrician. Is closer better? Or would you drive farther for the better pediatrician and practice?
