My life flower totem disappeared??

Okay, so, I finally got back into playing the game after years of not playing. I re-downloaded it on my phone, started a new camp and everything. I decided to try and save all of my gems but of course I impulsively spent them all on a life flower totem. 160 of them.

I see the build site, but all of my dragons are asleep so I think oh, nevermind, I'll come back to the game tomorrow.

I do that, open it up this morning, and it's not there. no build site, no totem, AND NO GEMS!

is it a bug? did I do something wrong? has this happened to anyone else before?

again, I'm really new to this as I haven't played in years and years.
