Less than 1 year insurance

Hello all, I am 17 and have 2 Land Rovers, unfortunately both of which require a bit of work (what a surprise!). My question is, I really need a functioning car in the next couple of weeks and was wondering if I can buy something cheap and insure it for a month or so before the landy is fixed or whether it’s a year minimum?
