Bubble Bath as an essential personal hygiene product

During the 60s, it seemed to be accepted wisdom that a kid could not get truly clean if the kid's bath water didn't have bubble bath powder in it...it was like laundry soap is for clothes. In other words, the only way to get impurities off of a kid's skin was to add more impurities to the bathwater in which the kid bathed.

I remember brands like Mr. Bubble used to promote sales by putting little prizes, like plastic toys or figurines, in their product. I think that bubble bath has faded from the scene...at least I don't remember hearing about it when my kids were little, in the 90s.

Like dryer sheets, kid's bubble bath seems to have been a product that people bought because the retailers of the product told them to buy it.
