Tabitha is not free. She is in the dungeon.

We know there is an element of being in two places at once. We saw the three kids in the dungeon, despite them all being in their beds in town, and Boyd was even able to interact with them inside the dungeon and touch them.

So that leaves the question. Where is Martin the Marine? He was in the dungeon, but where was his other half? He used to think the monsters were the worst part. Monsters are only the tip of the spear... indicating there is far, far more going on and the forest isn't that big.

Also, in the hospital when we see tabitha get up, we see her most pronounced bruise is on her wrist. Its in a weird position when you think of someone falling or even being tied up. It isn't weird when you think of the dungeon and how the chains are applied to the wrist.
