UPDATE & MORE HELP PLS:

hi, i posted around two months ago and i received a lot of helpful advice. for reference, my post is included below:

“i’m in college (19f) and parents recently found out about me having a girlfriend. they brought me home this weekend and talked to me about how i can never see her again and if i argue i’ll get hurt (i have a photo of the threat). my dad has abused me my whole life and this is my final straw. i need to go NC with him and my mom. i’ve started a plan but does anyone have any help for doing this? it all seems daunting and scary and it’s especially worrying since i have to still pay for college.”

now, however, after a lot of work, i am able to take the first step into no contact. after a lot of debating, i decided that the best thing to do is send one message before shutting my phone off. i’ve gotten a new phone now, my university knows about what i’ve been going through, im in therapy, i have a strong support system, and i have a place to stay for breaks. most importantly, my parents cannot enter where i live without the police being called. i cannot sleep, though, as i do not know what to put in the message. i also do not know if i should send anything to other relatives so my parents do not give them the wrong message.

any advice?
