Batting performances in challenging conditions
I'm looking to build a list of exemplary batting innings performed under challenging conditions (both physically and mentally). They can be in any format of the game - test/ODI/T20
I'll start with some instances I know of: 1. VVS Laxman (IND): 281 vs AUS (Kolkata 2001). Batted a whole day under extreme back pain and dehydration. 2. Rahul Dravid (IND): 180 vs AUS (Kolkata 2001). Same inns as Laxman. Batted under heavy medication taken for high fever. 3. Glenn Maxwell (AUS): 201 vs AFG (Mumbai 2023). World Cup Knockout Match Inns, batted under extreme physical pain (do not remember what injury he was facing). Took AUS to victory from the brink of defeat. 4. Sachin Tendulkar (IND): 241 vs AUS (Sydney 2004). More of a mental challenge, where he overcame his weakness of getting out to the cover drive. This was an inns of extreme mental resolve where he hit a double century without attempting the cover drive even once. 5. Sachin Tendulkar (IND): 140 vs KEN (Bristol 1999). Hit a century after the demise of his father. 6. Hanuma Vihari/ R Ashwin (partnership): 64 (290 balls) vs AUS (Sydney 2021). Both injured lower order batsmen facing probably the most brutal bowling attack of recent times. Batted for almost 2 sessions saving the test match while facing some of the most brutal body bouncers from a brilliant Australian fast pace attack.
You must have figured out that I'm an Indian fan by the instances I've quoted above. But I'm really hoping to find instances of players from all teams (even if the inns is against India).
Also, no rules on minimum number of runs or anything. It can be any performance you feel was under extreme physical/mental conditions, and should be on the list.
Not really looking for bowling performances for now.
