Need advice on quitting my job

I am quitting my job after one year of service and going into the private sector. I cannot handle the speed, bureaucracy, complacency, and draining hoops and hurdles that crush growth and creativity.

What advice do you have about the quitting process? What can I do to optimize my benefits/vacation, etc. Is there anything I should know before sending in the letter?
