Still Considering a Bambu Lab Printer Despite the Controversy—Thoughts?
Hey everyone,
I've been researching 3D printing for a while now and was all set to buy a Bambu Lab printer. Being completely new to the hobby, I wanted something that works well straight out of the box without much tinkering. From everything I've read, Bambu seemed like the logical choice—great hardware, user-friendly, and reliable automation.
However, just as I was about to pull the trigger, the recent software update controversy hit, and the backlash from the community made me pause. I've since continued my research, but despite the concerns, I still find myself leaning towards Bambu. My reasoning? I only plan to print for fun, not for serious production or heavy modding. I just want a reliable, hassle-free experience.
From what I understand, Bambu Lab seems to be the 3D printing equivalent of Apple—closed ecosystem, easy to use, but at the cost of some control. Would you say that’s an accurate comparison? And for those of you who own one, has the controversy made you reconsider your choice?
Would love to hear your thoughts!
