FTM Baby shower: 24 weeks or 35 weeks?

I'm due April 26th. I'm a BIG planner in general and get easily overwhelmed if things are unirganized/crammed/rushed.

My dad will be going to Florida for 3 months and I really want him to be at my co-ed shower. This will be his 1st grand baby and I just really want him there.

My options for dates so that he can come is either Jan 4th, I'll be 24 weeks. Or March 22nd and I will be 35 weeks.

35 weeks already seems to close to my due date for my liking.

My Anatomy scan is on Dec. 9th so I'm assuming I'd have results before my shower if we go with January 4th.

We have a large family so it's a lot to coordinate with others but these will be the 2 dates that work.

I'm leaning towards 24 weeks so I have lots of time to prep, organize, make returns/purchases, etc but is that "too early"?

ETA: worried Jan 4th will be bad timing for guests because they just had all their personal Christmas expenses and might not be the best time financially.
