Heart beat irregular for the past several nights, very concerned!

I have noticed for the past week that my heart skips a beat here and there, i feel a "strong" heart beat when this skip happens. I have monitored my heart beat for several days by checking my pulse for a 5 - 10 minute stretch and i found that i have very little if at all any skips during the day 1-2 skips per 10 min. Whereas at bedtime and during the night that goes up to 1-2 per minute. I am of course going to see the doctor, but would like to know if these symptoms sound like they are a sign of condition like A Fib or what? This will help me with questions i can ask at my appointment. Thanks!
